racing bike to bike or bike to car

if you guys are in a drag with another bike or car, how far will you go to prove a point?

reason for asking was, i was in a drag with a 02 gsxr750 and was slightly infront by 2 bike lengths until 130k's (80mph) and when i backed off due to speed limit being 70k's and cops love this road, the gixer kept it nailed well off into the distance.

HATE COPS, I just got my first fucking ticket. it was 55 limit, I was doing 70 at most. it was a one lane backroad, the other lane was upcoming traffic. and all these cars who wanted to speed above limit went past me by overtaking. so there was absolutely no cars, enjoying the morning ride, about 9 am or so, cruising alone. and i came at this curve, taking 55-60 and slightly accelerated to 70 and then I saw a white car on the upcoming traffic, usually I slowed down every time I see a car. but since it was completely isolated and I sped to 70. and so when I spotted that car, my reaction time caught me off-guard, and I slowed the hell down. but, it turned out to be a cop car. he swerved to the side of the road, my window was open as I was "inhaling" the morning air, hehe. so he took a good look at me. and then he u-turned his car and started following me for a while. then he flashed his lights. I stopped the car at side of the road, got my wallet and license out. and he said, "so what are we rushing to...?" being this is my first cop experience, I got a little nervous and honest and I said, "I was distracted a bit and only for a second..." he asked, "do you know what the speed limit is?" I said, "I believe it was 50?", but I know the stories, so I felt it was worthless arguing with the cops around here. so I let him have all info, then he spent 5-7 mins checking things. and gave me a $195.00 ticket for unlawful speeding of 82 mph at 55 zone. What the hell, I never went past 70. Now I have to go to court or pay the fine and attend traffic school. And this is pretty much how these pigs generate the revenue here. Being the overcareful, oversensitive driver I am, I'd hate to resort to cliche, but I never thought it'd happen to me. I'm calling it racial profiling, racist bastard!

So yeah, I never do dragging in the streets thanks to all the law-enforcement oversight, and after this, it'll take someone hell-bent to convince me so, at least on a car.

cops here give you the attitude test first. thats where if youre a dickhead they'll nail you. if your honest and actually care about the fact that you were in the wrong chance are they'll let you off. a great trick they pull is give your details to the enviromental police and then you have to prove that your car/bike passes all the EPA rules. most new cars fail let alone anything that has mileage on it.
take it on the chin.
i've been done 4 times and twice for 96 in a 60 zone or highway speed in a local zone. the first time an undercover cop chased me for ages but couldn't legally get a speed check because i wasn't in a lane longer than 4 seconds.

on the upside most regular cops won't book a bike unless he's really doing stupid stuff

4 times since you started driving/riding?

yeah, since it's my first time and had been honest, I thought I'd be off with a warning. a lot of my friends had receive that sort of respect. but just my luck, I got slammed with a cop at the wrong time (even thought it was a right place), not to mention an asshole cop.

But $195 is absolutely ridiculous and a lie, I did not even exceed 70 mph.

never been done whilst riding (touch wood) and thats 4 times in 15 years
but the best one was i was late for work and booted it up a hill and over the crest were the cops. i almost hit one as he stepped out to pull me over and a motorbike cop chased me down. i didn't even try to run though. that was 95 in a 60 zone 4 points off my licence (12 points in total) and $500 in fines

have been chased by cops just to see what was under my bonnet though. that was interesting

you mentioned the cop was being racist. you had your visor up so he could see you. and i take it that the cop was white and your not. (how to be politically correct). what race/colour are you. aussie are all breeds not just anglo although i am. i was dating a south african-indian girl and her family stopped us from being together. from my point her family was racist against me.

opps i did it again. off topic. you can reply in the off topic thread if you like

What is is about Saffies? I think they're weird... another thread, another tale...

I will go to no more than 20mph over the speedlimit to make my point. I can't afford any ticket, let alone to lose my license, so I will stop at 20 over. I'm especially careful now b/c 2 years ago I was pulled over for having my face shield open, so I am kinda paranoid it will happen again.

I think you missed something there. I was driving my car with window rolled down, if I was riding a motorbike, there'd be no way I'd have my visor up. And even with the visor up, I doubt you could tell much about the person.

As for whether the cop was racist or not, who knows, though generally there is a bad vibe in the streets about who they favor most. And of course racism is never indigenous to one ethnicity. But his behavior just struck me odd comparison to my previous experiences when I was hitching a ride with friends who were also pulled over for speeding. I was doing 70 at the most, he wrote me up for 82 at 55 zone. And the funny thing is, all the other cars who were far beyond speeding, had to overtake me to get past me. So I was wondering, how the hell did he not notice them? And at the the time when he caught me, I was all alone in the road. Obviously, because all the cars sped ahead. So he followed me for a while, playing cat and mouse, and then he flashed the lights.

I was only going 15 over at the most in a completely isolated backroad/highway, the cop claimed 82. This is how they pretty much make money for their department here.

Hey, what's the tale... share away? it's not like we rather be concentrating on making next generation no-balls Honda bikes,

so even if you've lost and the guy/girl in front has backed off, you'll haul past and assume a victory?

No that's the lamest thing you could possibly do. The other person has proved the point that he/she is faster and blowing by them after they are done is just being a poor loser.
