confused on what engine i have

i recently bought a 1993 Civic LX from sum family. anyways it was kept in good condition and there was one owner before this family. i have already noticed the speakers with it arent stock. my question is most of the receipts that i recieved from the previous owner say that the engine is the D16Z6, which is a 1.6L SOHC w/ vtec (or could it be possible that it is a D16Z6 w/o vtec). other reciepts say its a 1.5L and even a few say its a 2.2L SOHC (which i highly doubt, doesnt feel that powerful) now im about to turn 16 and i havent really been into cars until i just got my own so excuseme if i dont know what im saying but ive been reading this forum for the past week and i think i know sumthing... yea anyways any help would be appreciated

It's probably just the SOHC non VTEC. If he did a motor swap then it should say VTEC on the valve cover. If you look down below the distributor on the block then you should notice a code(ie16Z6). Another way to tell would be the redline. if it redlines at 7200RPM then it's a D16Z6(SOHC VTEC) and if it redlines at 6500RPM then it's a LX(SOHC non VTEC)

More than likely it's the 1.5 non-VTEC unless they dropped an engine swap in it which I highly doubt. It is poosible if they did drop the D16z6 in it that it still wouldn't say VTEC cuz that's what engine I have and it doesn't say VTEC anywhere. Try looking at your engine, find the fuel rail, and look just to the left of the fuel rail and you may or may not see a cylinder looking thing (kinda small) with a couple wires running to it. That's a VTEC sylenoid (unless it's not there=no VTEC) Hope that helps

thats the wierd thing, all the receipts from past oil changes and repairs that give the engine code all say that it is a D16Z6, and none say any other code including D15B7

welp i still cant find the engine code but im pretty sure its the D15B7 because on my engine it tells the type of spark plugs touse with it (ZFR5F-11) and those are the spark plugs that should be used with the D15B7, i also cant find the v-tec solenoid. so thanks for everyones help
