Networking computers/borrwing a drive
In the past we have networked 3 or 4 comptuers together for gaming. I know you can go "see" what's on another computer and access files etc.
Now my questions is....I have a laptop (which has been networked to the pc before) but the CD ROM drive in it is dying. Would I be able to network it to the PC and "borrow" the CD ROM drive from the PC to load programs onto the laptop? |

Sure. The laptop is no different then a PC as far as the network is concerned (given that they both have the same protocols on them).

Thanks! I think I will give it a shot...and save myself a few bucks buying a new CD ROM drive, at least for awhile.

yes you can, but sharing has to be enabled on the network and the computer:bandit:
