I need help!!! I have a 2001 Monte Carlo LS. It has 38500 miles on it. The check engine light came on today and I cant finda manual with the procedure or the code definitions. If anyone can help with this, please don't hesitate to respond. Thanks for the help!

Most of the time this is related to a loose gas cap. Make sure the gas cap is tight, disconnect the battery for 5-7 minutes. If the light comes back on, the only way to retrieve the codes is with a Tech-2 from GM

You can take your car to AutoZone and they will tell you the code number and what that code means (to a certain extent).
I bought a universal code reader from Harbor Freight tools for $39.99 (on sale). As of today, they are selling it for $49.99. Check out the following link... http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=46030 Jim P.S. If the link does not work, go to www.harborfreight.com and do a search on "universal code reader" |
