Polishing Future
Should I wait a week to polish Future or can I start polishing once it's dry?

Future is a wax, not sure why you would need to polish it?

Future is not a wax, it's an acrylic clearcoat that some say are similar to the Tamiya acrylic clear in bottles.
Personally I have had no luck in polishing Future floor wax. Even using something as mild as Tamiya compound left the surface hazy and scratched. And get this - the future had dried for more than a month. Also, wetsanding is not possible as the future'd surface becomes soft during this process. The softened future will come off in ragged pieces and will yield a nasty finish. |

Here is what 935k3 has to say about polishing future:
"The only wax I have found that doesn't but increases the gloss is ZYMOL brand wax. A coat or two of Future with Zymol over top gives a really nice shine." |

Ok...Future is labeled and sold as a "floor wax" but it is actually an acrylic floor overcoat product that self levels and dries to a VERY hard surface.

i polished Future with Tamiya compound with no ill effect what so ever. well the only ill effect that does come to mind is the blindness factor, cause it was so shiny!
But all joking aside, i had no problems, no hazing or scratches either. But dont take my word for it...check out the CF hood on my RX8 in my sig if you already havent.and to answer geofroley's Q: I waited a day and it was fine. shined like a champ. and just when i was finishing the model, i compounded again just for that extra shine and smooth feel. Good Luck JeFF |

Re: Polishing Future
There something not right about using Future as a clearcoat. I know people do it, but it just doesn't feel right.
I use it only to coat clear plastic. ~~ Paul |
