Where do you find the time to work on your kits???

The title speaks for himself but I'll try to explain to you all:

I work from 08:30 to ... (I have no time to finish)
When I go back home, there is the 8 month old daughter to take care of, the meal to help for preparation, the dishes to wash, all the little works a house need, ...
During week-ends: shopping, gardening, ....

I stopped my modeling club and signed in a new club (only as member) and I thought I could find the time to work on my models. It wasn't true. I still can't find an hour or two to work on my projects.

How do you do? How do you manage your time between modeling and family? Do you leave all the work for your wife? Do you work during the night?

Any feedback will be very appreciated because if the things continue like that I won't do modeling for some years.

I currently work 8:00-5:00 and have household chores to take care of... I don't really get that much time either.. but I have "scheduled" at least 2 hours each week for my own usage... away from my GF, work, what-not... so my suggestion is communticate with ur family and make some room... IMO everyone needs time alone...

Re: Where do you find the time to work on your kits???

I work from about 1pm-10pm. I usually get up around 7 or so, so I just work on my kits for a little, then I have to go to work. It's been working pretty well. I've finished about 2 kits this way.

The only time I ever have to work on my stuff is the weekends. I work alll week. On saturday I try to get all my wifes honeydo list done early...then I build for the rest of the weekend.

I start work at 7:30, so I get up at 6:00AM and model for an hour before I have to leave. Seems to work ok as the wife and kids are still asleep and dont demand attention.

Re: Where do you find the time to work on your kits???

Unfortunately, not enough time. I have to work about 5-6 days a week from 1:30PM-10:00PM then I get home, watch a little TV, hop on AF and then work on a model if Im motivated.

Re: Where do you find the time to work on your kits???

I have a busy schedule too, so I rarely get to spend long periods of time at the bench. I usually do things in 5-10 minute bursts. Almost never in the morning, and usually at night. I can usually find an hour on the weekend.

I find that it really helps to make a 'list' of the things you want to do. Just pick an item and "do-it". Before you know it, you'll be done!

P.S. My 'completed' shelf is not that large, so perhaps my strategy isn't as good as I think!!
