whooping the bowtie

OK so my buddy has a beat old iroc *6* and thinks being being RWD and having more lowend he'll get me *this time* so we are at a light he revs thinking things will be better for him this time.

I give a perfect 5K launch not even the littlest spin from my tires. SNICK into 2nd hes at my rear bumper. pulling a little less hes up to my door now I just shifted into third the power picks back up he drops to behind
my car. winding up to about 75 MPH i have about 2 lenghts on him. I see some traffic up ahead and put the car in nutral he slows as well.

We meet up at my place for a few cold ones he blames this loss on his 2 12"s draining his battery

This race wasn't anything too cool but it was the closest one i've ever had so i posted this up. Its a bigger rush when the other car is not even behind you and just feet over in the other lane. He is driving it better so i better add some power to smoketh his ride worse from now on.

cliffnotes
ran beater 6banger camaro
pro launch on my part
pulled every gear
super close race
i whooped him and he blames his subs

Re: whooping the bowtie

6-cyl domestics are unimpressive if you ask me, pontiac has made a couple v6s that are quick but the main two (mustang v6s and camaro/firebird v-6s) are slow.

A kill is a kill so good kill!!!

#1 But I'm pretty sure IROC's never came in V-6's

#2 I agree neither one of them(V-6 Maro/Stang) is impressive.

#3 I don't think a V-6 Mustang or Camaro is really American Muscle guys....

#4 If it was that close a real IROC 305 or 350 would have beat you handily.

Again good job a kill is always worth applause.

thank you all

I was told on another site i'm on its not an IROC 6 its just an optioned out base model so its got everything but the motor. Sorry about teh confusion
And yup a 350 would get me i've raced a 305 monte SS in barly took me and that was before alot of my mods.

I agree about the v-6 not being Muscle

But heck i'm pushing less thern 100 crank HP i'm happy. I need my swap hehe

Re: whooping the bowtie

Thunderbird supercoupe's are a 3.8L V6 and they are bad ass with some mods done. a guy here drives a teal one with some kind of mods to the blower and runs low 13s.

I raced him on a straightaway from about a 40 mph roll and it was *DEAD* even through 5th and up to about 110mph

Re: whooping the bowtie

OK one thing to realize. 3.5VQ35 from Nissan makes 287hp and 278 tq(I think that's how much tq it makes I may be wrong 270 might be closer) So the Pontiac 3.8 super charged engine makes 260hp and 280 tq. The high tq for the Pontiac due to displacement. Does anybody see the point I am trying to make. Also in the same league is the V6 that Honda/Acura uses in the 3.2TL.

It's time for American car companies to step to the plate and make a real V6 that doesn't need a blower to compare with a N/A V6 engine. Do you think they will do it or not? That has been my rant. Later I have to go to work.
