Question Cant find Tamiya primer in U.K

Hi i am a new to the modelling world and i just started to make my honda s2000.
But I got a big problem because I cant find anywhere Tamiya white primer. ARe there any shops in the U.K that sell it or any trustworthy online shops where you can get it from who post to the U.K (By the way many online companies dont like to ship paints and primers. something to do with postage retrictions.)

Help would be much appreciated.
Thanks. Zak.

www.hlj.com....is a reputable Japanese company with very good prices for modelling kits, paint tools. And they ship paints but by land only so takes a little longer.

As for getting Primer in the UK. Apparently and I will stand corrected on this by some of the UK guys you cant get Tamiya Primer in the UK for some reason. I live about 90 minutes from Belfast which is were I go to get my Tamiya paints and I asked them recently did they stock the Primer and from what I can remember the guy told me that the UK couldnt get the Primer for some reason.

I have been using PlastiCote (sp) primer with some success (well by my standards) with Tamiys TS range.

Beware of customs though. Try to make orders less than £18.

Cheers

Re: Cant find Tamiya primer in U.K

I've had Tamiya primer shipped from HLJ via SAL... 1-3weeks. I don't know if there are restrictions or whatever, but I've a few packages from HLJ including a can of primer and I don't think any of them were shipped surface

Question is the halfords primer any different

really appreciate all your comments and suggestions. You know the halfords white primer is that any different to the tamiya one. Will it give a different result. WIll it not be as good or is it exactly the same thing and can i use that on my model instead. By the way what does it say on the front of the can so when i go to halfords i know what i am looking for.

Thanks for all the help
Zak

Re: Cant find Tamiya primer in U.K

to be fair many people from the uk are using the halfords plastic primer without a problem (do a search for the word "halfords")it cheap as chips and more freely available then the tamiya stuff (willing to wait 3-4 weeks for a new can from japan???). the only problem ive come across is the coats can be quite thin (some people may say this is a good thing). but just try it yourself and see what results you get

you looking for "halford plastic primer" youll find it above all the car body paints in a silver can. think they do both grey and white.

The range of panel paints is also quite inpressive aswell. they removed the custom paint mixing thou LOL
