Jeff Gordon and Terry Labonte "raced versions" nascar

this was just something to do for fun, untill i get some money to buy a new model lol. them tamyia kits are pricey

anyhow, i weathered this one, added some tire marks on the side, and rubber debris on the front and hood, and a few dents, also notice half the windshield is dirty, the other side is clean, i did this to simulate that maybe he came in the pits and the pit guys tore off a tear-off, also they put on new tires,

its nothing special, i just felt like doing something differant

and the Terry Labonte car got some duct tape , and tire debris, and scuff marks. looks like he had a rough day on the old short track!

I like these 2 better than the 1st one you posted. Nascars look better when dirty.

Love the tire scrazes down the sides, they are a nice looking pair, and a little different to the pristeen cars normally posted up here!

Weathering looks great, even a bit of panel damage at the back of the Dupont car

Fantastic weathering.
Both of those cars look awesome.
Can you share some tips on how you applied the weathering?

sure!
basicly to simulate rubber build up on the front and windshield, i just misted on some black spray paint at an angle, then i went over it with a dullcoat
the tire marks on the side were done with a brush and some flat black paint. i found some pictures on the web to see how the tire rubs look.

the dents are made by heating up the plastic on the inside, then pushing it in to achive the look you want

on the #5 car i also sanded the goodyear logos off the tires a bit, to make it look even more used up

have to be the best 2 nascar models i've seen. I've never been a fan of nascar models but you've made me see the light.

I agree with CADguy on the weathering. I think the models looks real cool even though i'm not big into nascars.
