1/18 Maisto Corvette Z06

Here are some pics of my 1/18 Maisto Corvette Z06:









Mods:
-Blacked Out Running Lights
-Smoked Tail Lights (only one side done in pic to see how it looked)
-Black engine cover (swapped engine from another Vette)
-Removed Windshield Wipers
-Smoothed Cowl
-Smoked Marker Lights (appear blacked out but are smoked in person)
-Black CORVETTE lettering in rear
-Black painted Z06 Rims
-Removed front air dam

looks good... is the lettering custom painted in there?? ...i need to paint my Z06 lettering silver b/c Ertl did a crappy job on the rear... i only bought the Ertl version b/c it came in blue and the Maisto one didn't...

The lettering is engraved in there and I painted it black.

I like the smoked tails...do the other sides too!
Black "corvette" lettering is also nice

Next step should be trying to chrome the exhaust tips :

btw I think Maisto did come out with a blue one...just saw it at Target.

I'm trying to not have any chrome on it. The stock exhaust was silver but I changed them for some black ones (black and yellow the theme of my Z06) Thanks for the suggestion though.

I remember seeing a blue Maisto Z06 but don't remember where. I really want one though. Gotta build up my Corvette collection.

but who makes it?? ...i've never seen a Maisto Z06 in blue... but Ertl has a blue one and that's what i have... the lettering that says "CORVETTE" on the back of the Ertl is nowhere near as good as on the back of the Maisto...

Oh, sorry. I meant to say I have the Maisto Z06 in blue.

Maisto makes a blue Z06, the paint is called 'Electron Blue' and Eorvettes with that color are found exclusively at Target stores. Good luck finding one.

You might want to wait a few months for the 2004 Commemorative Editon Corvettes to be produced by Autoart. They're a deep blue (possibly electron blue) with the distinctive red and white racing stripes on part of the car.
