raced a 2000 Mustang GT finally ...

my first real test since my new tranny mods ... my boss has the stang , and he is always laughing at me when im talking about the mods im getting at work ... so i told him once i broke in the close gear set and new lsd i would take him on ... so yesterday a bunch of my fellow employees are all heading out to this club after work and on the way there my boss comes roaring up beside me in his stang , so im like oh shit , here we go !! from about a 70 mph roll i drop it in 3rd and start pulling on him to my suprise , i put about 1 1/2 cars on him before we shut it down at about 135 ... then we get stoped at this light further down the road and he whips into the next lane and lines up reving at me like crazy ... so we are both watching the other light turn yellow , then red and then ours turned green ... he jumped about 1 car on me off the line , tho we both got good launches and he held position untill the top of second when i started creeping back ... 3rd gear i started pulling harder as soon as i shifted and put him at my bumper midway thru 4th when we shut em down , i was completly shocked , but really amped up after that ...

it also depends on which gt stang your talking about. The 5.0 pushrods have little/no highway power, while the newer sohc and dohc 4.6's have a bit of highway juice. The gt crippy raced actually has a decent top end (as far as mustangs go)

If you are referring to a Prelude SH, you, in simple terms, are "talking out of your ass".

If your "boy" raced the Fox-body 'Stang GTs, and especially, the SN95 GTs, considered the slowest of all the Mustang GTs, then what you said is somewhat feasible. But if you are referring to the protagonist in this play, a 2000 GT, your "boy" wouldn't be pulling past that GT, especially in 4th and 5th, when weight becomes less of a factor, and torque, to pull you through the wall of wind, does.

Pshh,... I pull on 99+ stangs on the highway and the older models like nuffin. Mustangs are slow!
