Re: Model ice

it's actually called stryene, but it's cool.

I'm not sure how to build them, but I do know some 1:18 scale Dub City cars and trucks come with tons of subs and amps, especially the Astro van. Maybe you could swipe some out of one of those. (after you bought it of course.... )

oh, and welcome to AF, if you haven't already got that....

IMO The only thing to use is www.hoppinhydros.com because subs are hard to make and its not worth it to go thru hella work just to get alright looking subs. But I agree about the Dub City cars

In Distributing box they look like real subs, you dont have to modify them. Thats why i took subs from distributing box. And it cost like 2euros/3dollars. Its cheap, in distritubing box are like 12 "subs".

Re: Model ice

Man, for all the trouble your gonna go through you could just spend $3-5US for a set of awesome Hoppin' Hydros subwoofers.

Re: Model ice

If it doesn't have to have that much detail, sometimes I like to cut stuff out of magazines and just glue them to a box, then airbrush some shadows around it and stuff. A bunch of my friends thought that it looked pretty real.
