Embarassing night out

I haven't gone to any illegal street races in probably two years 'cause I got bored with it seeing as my car used to be a turtle in the 1/4 mile.

So tonight I go out and sure enough I find people at the old spot, some familiars and people I had seen years ago and wonder if they've been doing this same boring shit every weekend for the last two years... anyway...

I just sit around and watch for a good hour or so and chat with people... bunch of people start pressuring me to run the mustang. I tell everyone it looks like 200mph but it's more like 20. They don't believe me. So I get ready to run against anyone who wants to... I didn't care. Turned out to be a guy I used to know with a 99 Mustang GT.

So I'm ready to go, revving up as the guy between our cars is doing his human-1/4-mile-tree-impersonation to the best of his abilities... flapping his arms around like a goddamn bird... confuses both of us so we have to creep back onto the imaginery "stage area" *rolls eyes*. Anyway... I'm about to take off and I hear this *POP* and then the smell of anti-freeze. Guys... don't buy those f@#kin' slinky hose pieces of shit that cost like $120 per kit like I did. You have to adapt them and all sorts of bullshit and it ended up popping off from pressure. I wasn't too happy to say the least. Anti-freeze all over my top filter, all over the car... sticky... shitty anti-freeze all over.

So obviously the guy in the GT wins and everyone laughs at me. Oh well. I replaced that slinky hose pos with a regular rubber hose.

Moral of the story... don't feel so bad when you lose. Just think of me and my slinky hose next time and how dumb you'd feel to have that happen.

I don't take it seriously. I could care less that I "lost" and was laughed at... I laughed with 'em at the stupid slinky hose. I just try to inject the pissed-off-humor into my stories.

I'll probably go back next weekend. Dunno if I'll own 'em... don't really care about that either! Never been one to get crazy over competition and winning/losing. Being in the atmosphere with other gear-heads is funner than actually racing.

LOL Redneck!

Sorry to hear about the trouble with the 'stang my man, i'd have loved to hear the results of that run...you VS a '99 GT. That would've been great to watch!!

I can add to your story...don't feel bad, think of me and what i drive!! Enough said right?

Hey landyacht...I saw a Parisienne the other day when I was out of town (look OLD, Id say 60's or 70's) but that thing was huuuuge. It was a plymouth parisienne sport. I still need some pics of it

Re: Embarassing night out

Yeah I know the feeling. I once saw a buddy at a high school and revved my car, only to have anti freeze shoot out all over the place. Now the newer generation of cars have smart ecu's which totally screw up tuning all around. You gotta roll with the punches.

Nice!

Yeah, they're big cars eh Raz? Mines a GM Parisienne though, the Brougham model...picture the '80s Chev Caprice police cars...that's basically my car. It gets mistaken for a Caprice all the time because from the outside they're basically identical looking, ya gotta love sister cars!

Mines just way nicer inside, much more refined, as loaded as the Caddys of it's year, and chrome skirts all around. 17 feet long and just under 6 feet wide.

She's my boat and i love her! I have a picture of her, but i can't get the thing to attatch to my sig.
