where to start?
overview:
I know little 'bout hondas. I like what i see, and hear. Im looking to buy a used "97-00'????" depending on answers to questions. please help. What I want to do is "trick out"(body, paint, wheels, interior, audio, minor engine mods) a honda, but theres to many unclear descisions. In your opinion: What is the fastest stock honda between civic(dx,ex,si?) and prelude?, if so, can you briefly describe? Ive heard of sprcharged and turbo, do any come stock with this? if so, which one, and is there an automatic model? or are they exclusive to 5-spd? (id prefer an automtc if possible) thanks a mill. dave |

well the fastets models lines are as follows
Civic Si and Prelude SH, the prelude is faster stock outta the box, but since the Si is lighter it can be made faster with the correct assortment of mods. From what i see there is a bigger aftermarket for the civics of your era then the preludes, so for your modding, id go civic, but imo, i think the prelude looks better.

id agree with the civic si
nice lookin, lite, and tons of mods that are easy to find with all the power u want out it, it would almost be a waste not to get the 5speed(just my opinion) |

Wow your one lucky guy! Still driving my mom's Civic...
The best bet would be the Civic Si, like the others said, abundant aftermarket support and affordable, not to mention the double wishbone suspension. Also, civics are friendly to engine swaps, even the Prelude engine will fit but dont plan on autocrossing if you make the swap!
