What could I do... idiot

Well I'm driving home from work.. zoomin along with empty roads at night. Just a few stragglers behind and in front of me.. Get off the highway and slow for the signal.. what do i see.. a nice big cop car in front of me... It was 1 of the cars way up in front of me.. good thing i didnt gain too quickly

So he turns and i do too.. few more lites and he seems to still be going the same way as me... come to a big left turn and so does he.. have to wait 4 min for the light with all the traffic... im thinkin.. mebe he will go all the way to my home street so itll take me 5 hours to get home.. uggg

turns green and the mass of left turners start to go.. and 2 cars up i see a brand new white Carerra.. dont think it even had plates yet.

The road becomes 3 lanes and this Carerra zips around a few cars... so of course the cop starts to do the same.. and im sitting back here thinking.. how can this guy not check his rear!

come to another light.. 99% of the cars are turning right to go home... so now its Carerra, cop, me, and then mebe 2 other cars behind. lites turns green and this dumbass Carerra (must be testin his new car) zips ahead.. the cop lays down his pedal.. and im trailin behind watching this idiotic scene in action.

the speed limit is 60mph with 3 lanes...the Carerra is doin about 80 and the cop is 2 car lengths behind.. no1 else around.. no1 in front.. and no1 behind me for at least 1/4 mile..

just the 3 of us.. its so sad... im wonderin what i can do.. flash my lights so the idiot will look behind and see the cop??? i'm about to do it when a another light comes up ahead.. the Carerra pulls to the right and hits his blinker to turn...down shifting n revv'n.. rite there the cop pops his lights and its all over. pulls em over and i go on by...

so frikin dumb! Part of me is laughin at the idiot for not checking his mirror for 2-4 miles (!!!!!) and part of me feels that at least the guy is driving his car like it ought to (minus the being an idiot and not being aware of ones surroundings).

pretty sucky. Anyone have any good ideas if this ever happens again.. try flashers and take a chance it pisses off the cop... etc etc

I bet the guy in the Carrera was having so much fun he did not know what was happening around him. If I had just bought a new car like that I probably would not have noticed anything either

I can't see what you could have done without overtaking the cop. If you flashed your lights the cop might have decided to go after you and try to find something wrong. Let's jost hope the guy was just having too much fun and he was not one of those dozy drivers who are not capable of noticing what's happening around them.
