What could you do with $12,000?
I'm asking a question for a friend. He has a 97 Prelude with the H22A but its also pretty much built for a turbo. He doesnt want this car any more because of the weight issue, and has a couple of choices he could do. He could do
A) Sell his car for around $12,000 and use that money for a Integra GSR, or a Hatch with a swap. Or do whatever you could do with 12g's OR B) Only sell the shell which is pretty much in perfect condition, has coilovers(not sure what kind), has rims, and a very clean interior. He would try and sell it for $6,000 but if no one bought it he would go for $5,000. Then he would keep his engine and buy a hatchback, of course 92-95, and drop the H22 right in there and still have money left over. In my opinion I would want to see option B done just because he would then have the fastest hatch around here. What do all of you guys think? |

Well if he really wants to sell the prelude... this is what I would do if I were him.. I guess:
If he's really into hondas, get something light like a hatch or crx and put in a type-R or a GSR Motor..or ls/vtec.. or a ls turbo etc etc. The options go on. Or do what these guys are suggesting (and what i'de probably do) and go get a good used rwd sports car or something ( i was looking at a pretty nice 280zx the other day with a turbo and a rebuild engine in it for only like 5000 ) .. something that is pretty quick stock and you don't have to build it to much to kick ass.

...If you insist on swapping...buy the FD RX-7, save up another 6-7grand and dump an LS1 into it...or just buy a cheap FC and dump the LS1 into it...which you can more than do with 12grand. An LS1 in a 2600lb RWD car like the FC RX-7 would be plenty fast enough for him...power and handling...the best of both worlds.

Re: What could you do with $12,000?
dont take out the engine and sell it for HALF what you think you could get otherwise.. no way in hell is a h22 worth 6k.
you could get a k series INSTALLED for 6k.
