Question 17 flashes on ECU??

i checked my Stock Si ECU and it has 17 flashes. the check engine light comes on after about 10 minutes of driving and it stays on. Somebody help me please. I need to figure out what that code means. Thanks

Code 17 is:

VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor)
defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
I don't know exactly what is wrong but check your wiring.

Do you think it's that my speedometer cable not being connected to the tranny......?i think it might be because my speedometer doesnt work either. Is it possible for the ECU to sense more codes than just that one or does it only do one at a time?

Yes, I would check the speedo cable to see if it has somehow come loose. The ecu can detect more than one code at a time.

speaking of ecu's....

anyone got a good website that shows all the codes? Similarly, my check engine light always comes on after about 10 mins of driving, but it has been like that for like 3 years (dating back to previous owners). I'm inspired to check and see if I have a code now . But maybe I dont wanna know. hmm...

speaking of code reading, what kind of readers do ya'll have, and where do they get plugged into, straight into ecu? or is there somewhere under the dash? Do they work on my DX rex? thanks team, holla back.

88-91 civics/crxs do not need a reader. Just pull up the carpet on the passenger footwell and look at the little window on the metal plate that has been exposed. There you will see an led that will flash the code.

just grab the top and pull down a little ways your not liek riping anything and you can push it right back to normal when your done, yes it should flash the code after the dash light goes off but the car has to be on for you see be able to read the blinks
