Re-Flashed ECU

I recently went to the ATS website and was thinking of re flashing my ECU for this spring. I was just wondering how good of a company they are? If this will take care of fuel tuning or if the SAFC is a good idea on top of the Re-flashing? And if this is will greatly improve how the car runs and how well it makes power?

i'd personally get a JDM upgraded ECU such as MINES, BLITZ or SARD -- the g-force style ROM tuning ATS does doesn't compare unfortunatly

you can buy one from me (verified w/wideband+) or take your chances on EBAY or other "for sale" forums

kinda hard to explain without getting longwinded -- the EVO and MR2 ECUs are WAY different in terms of programibility -- just because a EVO can get ROM tuned good -- the MR2 just can't -- has alot to do with the built in programming which when deceived (ROM tuned) the OEM program fights tooth and nail all piggyback changes -- is more of a recepie for disaster IMO -- but it seems the Japs have better control over the ECU functions and their ROM tuned ECUs have drastically better results

What do you mean by "drastically better results"?

umm -- BLITZ ECU, 550cc injectors, t-67 turbo @ 18psi = reliable low 12 to high 11 sec car -- try that with a ATS ROM tune or G-force... won't happen....

Re: Re-Flashed ECU

First, I didn't say I wanted my car to be that fast, I want to max out the factory turbo first. My goal is a 13 flat to beat my friends GTO by a half a sec. So I don't need a huge T-67. I plan on going T3/T4 from KO racing. My main goal with this car is to be fast in the corners not in a line. The ATS system will do just fine on my nearly stock set up. Once I upgrade the Turbo then and only then I'll go Stand Alone.

Re: Re-Flashed ECU

yes i realize that but your running a serious turbo with serious injectors. Did you not read the first reply? When i want to go that far I will. It will not benifit me any to upgrade to such an expensive ECU with out even pushing that much horsepower / torque to the ground! Besides as i said before i dont want a 12 sec car the fastest i want it to be is high 12s. 13 flat is my goal and you can achieve that with 300whp.

ok -- well -- with stock 440cc injectors and stock ECU with no piggybacks we ran a 12.5 @115 mph in the 1/4 with a standard GReddy TD06 kit, 3" b-pipe, GReddy SP cat back, external fuel pump, rising rate FPR, boost controller set at 18 psi, GReddy sidemount i/c, ACT stage1 clutch, heavy 17" street tires, 2.0 60' time

what we had as a FPR was similar to the cartech adjustable AFPR -- can adjust base pressure -- pressure ratio from 1:1 to?? -- can adjust the "gain" which regulated when the FPR will be adding more fuel and how much -- with a wideband/datalogger and that AFPR you can keep your fuel curve where you want it...

our MR2 with the TDo6 got around 30mpg on the freeway -- we ran it hard for 2 years before the cylinders got distorted -- WI would have kept that at bay.... but hindsight is 20/20
