Question bottle paint color for WRX??

I just ordered the Tamiya WRX sti. I want to paint it the appropriate WR blue color ( same as my REAL WRX), but want to use my airbrush. Anybody know a good paint to use. I could use Tamiya ts50 spray, but really want to use the airbrush.
Help!

Thank you!
Michael

I don't think they made that color in bottles yet.

Hobby Shop GT's Finisher's Color Sparkling Blue is the right match for the Impreza. (20cc bottle for 500 yen) It's synthetic lacquer, so have Mr. Thinner or compatible one ready for airbrush. (Mr. Leveling thinner is also good.) I don't know if HLJ or Rainbow10 carry the Finisher's Color, but it's worth asking. Of course you can spray Tamiya TS-50 into a plastic bag, and transfer it to a film case or something, which isn't so hard to do.

Or even better would be to use a Pearl Basecoat automotive paint, that way you get a real Mica!
Sonic Blue Mica is the shade, and if you want to take that approach let me know and I will tell you the precautions you need to take.

Ok, basically the problem you are fighting is a paint that doesn't want to go onto plastic!
So to get round it you need to use a true plastic primer from an automotive supplier, the type used when you spray plastic bumpers on cars. They will help you get this.
Then you need to get some basecoat pearl mixed, '555 Sonic Blue Mica' being the shade. Lesanol is the brand I use, but they all do it.
You spray it through the airbrush like any other paint.
leave it for a week to harden, then spray over that with four coats of Acrylic lacquer. It MUST be acrylic! Again, use automotive paint.
Leave that to harden for another week, then poilsh!
You will be amazed with the finish!
