Oddest Death EVER earlier

Ok guys. I am sharing this story because I think there are too many "kill" stories and not enough "death" stories, otherwise I would never speak of it again. Earlier tonight I went out for a bite to eat in the Ws6 Trams am in my sig. Well on the way home I pull up to a stoplight and a Damn PT Cruiser pulls up beside me. Yes I said a PT CRUISER. He had one of those really loud ricer exhausts on his car and he started revving up. I couldnt really hear a turbo or anything because I couldnt hear anything over his exhaust. Well I smirked to myself and said what the hell. Even though my car is an Auto, I dropped it down into 1st and I figured Id let him get the jump on me, then I would haul ass past him. Well the light went green and I let him get a slight jump (maybe 3/4 of a car length) and then I stomped it, but to my complete suprise I didnt pull on him at all and he was steady inching away on me. The race went to about 65-70 MPH because we were in the city, and I think if it woulda went longer I probably would have caught him, but by the time we finished the race he had right at a carlength on me. Well I started laughing to myself thinking how I had just lost to a PT Cruiser and the guy pulled next to me and started laughing as well. I didnt have time to ask him what mods he had to his car because my turn came up, but that was one hella fast car, and a VERY good sleeper car. I still cant believe I lost to a PT cruiser, but I guess you have to take the losses with the wins. Thanks for your time.

Rob

Paper Towl Cruisers... man... they are the bane of my existance. Everywhere in SoCal... like roaches... except they don't scatter when the lights go on.

But nice death...

But anyway nice death, and don't feel bad some of those PT's have the 2.4 Turbo engine as the srt4, so it was bound to happen that someone adapted some of the srt4 mods to them.

not the same engine as an srt4 at all...
nowhere near the same power, not the same.

You should know that I don't post BS information, the engines are virtually identical, the SRT4 engine is just a bit better tuned

Quote:
You can thank the PT Cruiser for the SRT-4's powerplant, as it was a desperate need for a horsepower-based PT sales boost that justified turbocharging the 2.4-liter engine and gave the development team the signal to go overboard.

Quote:
Pick up the pace with PT Cruiser's High Output 2.4-liter turbocharged engine. It creates 220 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 245 lb.-ft. of peak torque available from 2400 to 4400 rpm.
So yes I would say they are the same engine.I hope that is proof enough.

Nice Death! i wouldn't worry about it, there was a guy in Calgary when i was there that had put the AWD and motor/tranny application in a Geo Metro.

I was fortunate enough to talk to the guy, a marketing exec, that wanted something different and fun for the weekends.

I usually pick on Geo Metros, but when i tried picking on his, i got my ass handed to me!!

LOL, you're not in it alone in the unusual deaths department my friend, but good run of it anyway!

Re: Oddest Death EVER earlier

Good loss. As stated earlier the PT cruiser has the SRT-4 in them. They ain't too shabby at the dragstrip. I believe they can pull off a mid 14 sec. pass.
