knee's down

Towards the end of the thread 'questions about gear', knee's down scraping came up.
Having had both knee's dislocated in workplace accidents I prefer not to scrape them but to slide off the seat so my thigh is on the seat and my opposite knee holds the bike while my knee that should be scraping is up touching the indicator.
So my question is, testosterone and bull shit aside, who scrapes other than on the track or are there other styles?

Re: knee's down

The only time I scrape a knee is when I'm crashing....

Re: Re: knee's down

Okay, so I haven't put a knee down YET... but I will. Only got one more year til I'm teaching full time and I have summers off to spend on the track. I like to ride off the saddle through the twisties b/c I know it leaves me with a LOT of extra clearance incase sh!t hits the fan 1/2 way through and I suddenly have to go in harder.

I don't REALLY intend to put knees down on the street. That's what the track is for, and since PA has a SWEET road track north of Pittsburgh, I will have all the chance I want to drag knees in a safe environment.
