just bought an 89 gt

I just bought an 89 gt from a close friend of mine and love it. Was wondering if anyone would know around what i would run in the quarter??? car has bbk headers, x pipe no cats, cobra upper n lower, 180 degree thermo, 4.10 gears, e303 cam, 1.6 rockers, pulleys, cold air intake, aluminum heads, and thats about it. Havent had a chance to bring it to the track, but its deffinately the fastest car ive driven.

Re: just bought an 89 gt

You didn't say if it was an auto or stick. Either way I say mid to low 13's auto, high 12's with a manual depending on driver skill level.

I'd say no wider than 245's or your gonna rub on the slightest turn.

245 upfront is all your gonna get w/o rubbing. The back without changing suspension up a lil 275 can be squeezed.

Re: just bought an 89 gt

If it's 4.10's, I'm gonna GUESS it's an auto. If it's an auto....13.3's. 12.8's if it's stick and if it's stick with 4.10's.....good freakin luck getting it to launch. A buddy of mine from Fl has a 95 Cobra with 4.10's. I don't remember his mod list but he walks light modded/pullied 03 Cobra's pretty easily. His MPH at the track is good for mid 11's but he can't hook for SHIT and has a good amount of suspension work. He's going to 3.55's to see if they make a difference. So yeah if it's a 5speed, you're gonna need ALOT more then tires to hook.
