How To Tint Windows

Materials needed
-screwdriver (not shown)
-drill
-drill bit (i use a 1/8 drill bit)
-paint brush
-black paint (i used Testors Gloss Black)
-diecast wanted to be tinted

i put a towel down so i wouldnt scratch the roof of the diecast

after disasembling the diecast using the screwdriver take the body and find the rivets holding the plastic windows on. with the 1/8 drill bit press firmly down and drill slowly, you dont need to completely drill down to the roof, only enough so that the plastic will be able to come off over the rivet

after all the rivets holding the plastic windows down are drilled, the plastic should come off easily, if not use a little muscle, if that doesnt work, you may want to drill a little more using the same size drill bit or a little larger one

paint inside of the windows with the paint (painting the inside of the windows allow any decals on the outside of the window to still be shown)

look at the windows from the other side so you can see where it is not painted- you will be able to tell by seeing places where you can see light. once it is all painted so you cant see through it will appear like this

wait till the paint dries then simply put the windows back onto the body, it should fit right into place and still be held by the left over rivet, if not a little super glue will work fine. then enjoy

Sweet . . . I was actually applying real tint before . . . this makes it easier now.

Another way you could do it is get black spray can, tape off the outside part of the windows so you don't get over spray and just spray the interior part.

yeah there are a couple ways of doing it, for the this is the one that came out with the best results

Of course this is assuming you want limo tint....

yes. or you could use chrome paint to get a mirror tint- i think that would work

Or you could use Tamiya Smoke to do it, thats what they suggest on RCs, and it still would be semi Transparent.
