How do you make a direct pipe from your exhaust to your engine to make it louder?
I've heard about people doing this alot, is this safe? and how do you do this?

I don't think it'll sound all that good man. Buying a cat-back exhaust system would sound a lot better.

Personally, i dont like anything louder than a nice sounding exhaust, but thats just me.

you're bound to run into some kind of noise violation. and you'll have to pay a fairly steep fine for it. that and if it's required where you live, you won't pass any emissions test driving without a catalytic converter. and as far as loudness and how it sounds, you'll put any harley davidson to shame and not even sound good doing it. i wouldn't do it if i were you.

you live in California and you've never heard of emissions testing? Do you live under a rock? Or have you been deaf and blind?
 just jokes man, California has probably the most strict emissions testing in the states.

and lets not forget that your going to lose all sorts of horsepower from cutting out the proper amount of backpressure needed... .

why don't you just get a high flow cat. That will make you a little louder won't it?

hey you take a peace of pipe and run it straight off your headers after you take all the old exhaust off and weld it into the old brakets

when i got my lude the previous owner totally took out the muffler so the smoke was coming out from underneath the car right in the middle. The sound was so horrid and loud... i get a sick after driving it... the whole car rattles and what not. i'd rather get a decent cat-back that do that direct pipe thingy.

I would suggest not doing that because like everyone mentioned....you gonna hafta deal with emissions.
