Audi of Concord

Before I bought my G20 I was going to buy a Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T. So when it came time to buy my car I went to the local Audi dealership. They had a 1999, black with crushed pearl effect (such a nice color), black leatherette, sport pack, tiptronic, and 6 cd changer. Basicly fully loaded and low miles. But you got to hear this... They wanted 29k and some change for a used 99 A4! This was after I got them down about 3k. They also completly treated me like a little kid because im 17. I was also able to find out that my friends dealership sold the exact same car to Audi of Concord for 21k! I could got the that car at my friends dealership for about ohhhh 5k less if I was a week faster.

Then my friend told me he could get me a brand new 2002 G20 fully loaded for $25,500 out the door. I was so mad at Audi that I said yes without even thinking about it. I wish I didnt do that now and did more research but thats not a big deal.

WTF gave this dealership the idea that they could sell me a A4 for such an outrages price! What makes me even more mad is while I was on a date, my valet wanted to race me. I asked him what he had and he said, "2001 A4 1.8 Quattro with a APR chip (basicly 200hp, awd, and turbo)." Then I asked him how much he payed for it and he says, "23k." WTF is that shit!!! This quy was just as old as me and got a better deal on a brand new A4. Audi of Concord was 6,000 more on a used car 2 years older. Makes me so mad thinking about it.

My friend, there is a very old Latin quote that still very much applies to business today, it is...."Caveat Emptor." It means, "let the buyer beware."
The onus of responsibility for getting a good deal on a car is on YOUR shoulders. You have to do your homework, be prepared, and have all your facts and figures on hand BEFORE you walk into the dealership
Then you must be willing to dicker and bargain with the salesman to get yourself the best deal possible.
If you are unwilling (or unable) to do that, then you will most likely get a very poor deal.

Regards,
_ward

Exclamation

You Know I find this story to be very unreal.
Its the FEDERAL Law that states you have to be 18 yrs old (adult) to even talk numbers. IF this dealership made a contract with you and you were underage.
This contract shall be considered invalid. They can be fined and possibly be shut down. Unless how ever someone over 18 purchased the car for you. Then they should have known better.
That old saying, do your own reserch!
You can purchase any vehical form any dealership for just a few hundered over THERE invoice price!

Re: Audi of Concord

I'm not sure if this is a Federal law or a North Carolina State law, but here a minor can purchase a car, with parental permission. But the minor may return the car to the dealership at any time, for any reason, and recieve a full refund of price paid until the minor reaches his/her 18 birthday.
