Question Looking to get some work done.....

OK I've owned this basically stock 91 accord EX for about 4 years now and I'm looking to put some money into it. For the most part I'm lookin to get some more HP out of it and so far the best thing I've read to do is go with some new headers, intake and exhaust. I dont want to poor 10k into this thing but over the next few months I'm willing to put in 3-4k. The suspension is also pretty shot and needs to be redone too, I think it's the origional. I really don't want to lower it too much, occasionally I'm kind of hard on my car and I scrape enough as it is so I'm not lookin to lower it too much but it needs to be done here at some point so If anyone has any good advice on any good brands or parts I'm listening. I’m also particularly interested in anything I should stay clear of. I just want to put some money into it and make it a little quicker and faster than it is but I dont want to feel ripped off when I finished. Any Ideas, hints or suggestions are very welcome.

If you are looking to spend 3-4k, I wouldn't go the I/H/E route, I would go with a H22 motor, or a turbo, that will give you more bang for your buck, and will probably only run 2500-3500 if you shop around.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Hey, I totally agree. If you are going to invest that much cash then stay away from the I/E/H route and go for the swap or turbo. They will easily fit into that price range! (one or the other) If your engine is high mileage or not running great go for the swap. But if it's doing great and running perfectly then turbo it! You just won't get your money back with the other stuff.

Re: Looking to get some work done.....

yea what they said dont put little mods like exhuast and lights do the h22a swap and drop a turbo into it i garentee youll feel the difference once its done and youll gain lots of hp not like exhaust and headers that will do bout 20 hp total not enough to feel differencebut not a bad idea afterwars either. then if ppl think it looks stock then blow them away with ur speed. get the upgrade the looks afterward if ur not broke yet...
