Just bought a '95 accord, what can i do for $3 grand?

Hey, i just bought a '95 honda accord, and i was wondering what all i could do for like $3 grand. It's all stock, well, except for a tip, but that's it. What kinda mods should i start off with? Intake? Exhaust? Headers? All your help will be appreciated. Thanks!!

for $3000, first things first, get an h22a swap. Otherwise go turbo on the stock motor, but the h22a swap will be more reliable, and has a lot of potential without having to be built.

After installing the h22a, what can i do? The h22a motor, what is the difference between it and the stock motor of the accord? Is it easy to keep modding after installing an h22?

Re: Just bought a '95 accord, what can i do for $3 grand?

92 lx is very, very right. truth be told you could easily spend 3k on bolt on's, no problem. just look at my sig. thing is if all the money for every part you see listed on my car was not spent on that, but rather just on a turbo kit (oh yeah, go custom!!) my car would be so much faster. bolt on parts do shit besides looking and sounding nice. now, once you get your turbo kit, the gains that you'll get from adding a cat back will be greater than they would have been on the stock engine. bottom line is that our cars just are not fast to begin with, and bolt on parts only complement the engine. like he said, either go h22, and now you'd have a nasty engine to build off, or go turbo, and then you can just work on your internals and keep turning up the boost (which is hopefully where you'll see me by the end of summer)

H22 swap, then work ur way from there. stock engines are good for daily drivers. but then again the car is almost ten years old, so an engine swap would be the best bet.

Oh yeah, is there a place that has like all the honda/acura terminology, like the engine numbers, parts, and performance definitions and stuff? If i could find out some more stuff, then i wouldn't feel like a jackass when somebody's talking and i have no idea what they are saying. lol

don't know where you'll find that but on this thread only abbr. you might not know is h22a, which is the engine that comes from preludes and accord (japan model si only); if you go h22 (do not go h23!) get a japanese model

ummm.. u can look in the jdm forums and check out the posts they have there. Jus make sure wen u buy an engine that u get everythin with it, the tranny, alternnator, all that good stuff. Get ur moneys worth and find a place that wont charge labor up the ass, or even better know someone who can do it for u and is experienced in it.

Re: Just bought a '95 accord, what can i do for $3 grand?

if u wanan save the hassle of a motor swap... u can easily get intake, header, catback, MSD sci, ss blaster coil, ground wires, splug wires, spark plugs, drop, sports clutch and fly and maybe upgraded camshafts. Assuming u have the f22VTEC motor, ur car with all that could probably put out at least 180-190hp. But then if u do get the h22 swap then that is 200hp stock. Then from there u can get cam gears and have fun with the DOHC. Or u can just get the same mods ive listed above and get like 260hp or something

Hey the best place to buy JDM Engines is at www.totaljmd.com/?id=85804 They have the cheapest pricing and they stand behind all engines. Check it out.

didn't look at other engines, but the h22's were pretty much going rate. this link had one cheaper a few weeks ago, don't know if it's still there
