Re: Programming a new REMOTE control.

Misha,
I believe they have some for sale over at e-bay.com. I think they run from $10-25. Go to ebay then click on the "car and truck" icon under the Accessories section on the right hand side. I would then try typing in Alero or just GM.

2001 Alero remote

Hi,
Did you ever figure out how to program the remote? I just bought a used 2001 Alero and it has RKE installed, but I got no remotes, so I will be looking on eBay to buy one and then programming it.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: 2001 Alero remote

Find out from the other person the FCC number and the part number off the back of his existing remote. GM has put out over 60 different remotes. Sometimes they have the same FCC number, but the buttons have different functions that won't work on other models that it wasn't intended for.

Re: Programming a new REMOTE control.

Yea...I took the Ebay Remote to a dealer and they refused it, saying "its not the same". I ended up paying $38 for the remote itself and $35 for service. I hate dealers, so be careful.
