hey guys,

anyone from Australia or NZ.....I NEED a 91 Civic SiR service manual. do you guys have any way of getting them? I tried HELMS, but they don't have anything but US and UK books...at least from what I found.

I don't even know if they are still available in Japan I haven't been able to track one down at all and I need one too. Moppie might be able to help out

Speaking of SiR....the Door stickers ARE factory aren't they? and what do they say...or do you have a closeup of them?

I added a "DOHC" sticker from the new Civic Si to my rear quarter, below the body moulding, right behind the door...looks GREAT! I also replaced the 'HONDA' chrome on the right rear hatch with the same, cleaner looking, small "DOHC". I have on order two more DOHC VTEC stickers from the new Civic for the quarters now...and I just purchased a "VTEC" sticker from a 91 civic SiR from a guy in the UK...can't wait to get that one on!

oh! which reminds me....does anyone have access to the ORIGINAL "CIVIC" sticker from teh rear light assembly? they don't sell them in the US seperatly...you have the buy the whole damn reflector! I know they list in japan as a seperate piece, but have no part # to order one.

Well a SiR service manual is ablaivble from Japan, but it would be in Japanese, and cost several hundred $. What do you need to know thats not listed in the USDM book?


I can get all the stickers, and all the badges ex Japan with no trouble. and when your paying in US $ the prices are pretty good to.

The Programmed Fuel Injection/DOHC/VTEC door stickers are factory SiR. They are still available - Moppie got me a passenger side one (both sides are different - not mirror images) to replace the one that had gone from it. Good for making people know what you have Pics below (one old and pretty crappy shot).

SiR's didn't have the SiR sticker - it's raised and moulded into the cover - with the VTEC stickon below it. It's a JDM reflector and almost the same as the JDM/Aussie ones we got on our Civics here.

The car is pretty grotty ATM - blame the ash etc from the bushfires we've had since Xmas. The driver's door stickers pictured are old - the new ones look better on the passenger side. I'll update the driver's side ones soon. Passenger side is next to a brick wall and I'm too lazy to move the car

as for the manual...I have the USDM service manual, $55.00 US. What I need is the JDM SiR manual basically for the motor/tranny and such. I was going to get a Del Sol USDM manual, but figured it would be cool if I could get a SiR manual and have the ACTUAL thing! seeing as how i'm adding all this JDM stuff

I did email a Aussie Honda dealer, and he said it was out of print!? if anyone has any other connections...or maybe even if a company like Chiltons or Haynes (or whatever is down under) has a SiR repair manual available (not necessarily a Honda manual) please let me know! as long as it covers the 91 Civic SiR I'm willing to send some money for one. local parts stores have them here.

Japan or Singapore would be your best bet. The Aussie dealer was bullshitting you as the SiR was never released here - most don't know the SiR exists until I drive into their lot Mine's the only one imported into Australia before our laws changed other than a CRX EF8 SiR in Queensland. They won't even get the parts in for me as the car wasn't purchased through Honda Australia (pack of wankers).

New Zealand would be a better bet as they have very loose import laws and there are some SiRs there - but again they are imports, not dealer supported. They can also get stuff through Honda Japan.

BTW Moppie - is it possible to get the SiR hatch badge through Honda NZ? Mine's fading.

I can get any of the badges, just name it.

There is no aftermarket manual for the 4g SiR. It simply does not exist, as the car was only sold in Japan, (and in limited numbers in Europe as the VTi) and the Japanese dont seem to like working on thier own cars. There just isnt the demand in Japan for shop manuals.
Iv asked before about getting one from Honda, and they are still avliable, but only come in Japanese and at a HUGE price.

Setanta can you remember how much the door stickers cost? Vince wants to know, and after last night Im not going to be able to get into honda till later in the week.

Off the top of my head, I think the door stickers were about 70-80 bucks Australian - I think. Halve it for US currency, but I'm not to sure. If you are going to do an order I'll send you some cash - the new one makes the driver's door one look... old

Pretty sure it was 130 for the bumper light and about 160 for the engine mount, 80 bucks for the sticker.

I wouldn't mind if you could see if the lower center console is available - you know how mine is different to yours - mine has the lighter and ashtray below a small flip-open hatch. I don't mind paying freight.
