as soon as the weather gets warmer here, I plan to do a zex 50shot (dry kit). guessing that I can put down about 150hp at the wheels...so about 0-60mph 7.5sec, 1/4mile 15.0sec

good enough for my commuter sedan.

NOS good enough for your commuter? it doesn't do anything unless the button is pressed so the car is still slow as before...even when NOS kicks in, only faster for a little while.

P10Skin, there are a lot of other options than NOS that can make your car faster. If you are building a drag car, go for NOS because that's its ONLY purpose. For a street commuter, you want power and torque ALL the time.

Nah the main purpose for NOS in my car would be power on tap for the odd drag run I do, Burnout comps and beating hondas at lighs

I do have to agree with G22DET,

IMO once you get those x-tra HP's you will regret not "always" having them on tap.

But I'm also positive that a local shop can provide you with a
100shot NOS in about 4-hours.

Hey either way it's still a big step in making you ride faster
Thats all that counts.

Without getting some sort of GOOD ecu tuning that would be very pushing it. You could probably get a 50shot with some sort of piggy back fuel richener and be OK. But for a 100shot you should probably look into getting a JWT NOS ECU upgrade. I've heard really good things about this upgrade from NOS people.

I've seen multiple Sr20's running 150-shot NOS with precise engine management, so yes a 100-shot is possible.

For starters, and to play it safe a 50-70 shot is the way to go.
I'd recommend buying a MSD ignition system no matter what you decide.
A direct port setup will help each cylinder gets its fair share of NOS.

Does anyone know the current price of a JWT NOS system?

What about timing???

as far as I understand when Nitros is compressed it brakes into oxygen and nitrogen so u have to add more fuel to the mix to keep the mix correct but wouldnt you also need to advance or retard the spark to give it the proper amount of time to burn????

I'm not exactly sure but I think it's and extra $400 over the price of the ECU upgrade. Expensive but it's about as good as you're going to get. NOS support right in your ECU, sweet stuff.

This is interesting............

Nitrous Oxide Systems, the leader in nitrous technology, is announcing the availability of the worlds most sophisticated nitrous delivery system ever…. The NOSzle™. This patented new nitrous delivery system is so revolutionary that that it makes all other direct port wet nitrous systems obsolete. The NOSzle system is available for 8 Cyl. P/N 08008NOS, 6 Cyl. P/N 08006NOS, and 4 Cyl. P/N 08004NOS, EFI engines. The NOSzle system is capable of producing 75 to 600 bolt on horsepower.

The NOSzle system allows for direct port nitrous delivery on any MPI style manifold with no drilling or modifications to the manifold itself. The NOSzle simply fits under the existing fuel injector delivering nitrous and added fuel at the injector for optimum nitrous distribution.............

Cheater system

I was wondering if with the sneeky pete cheater system ( small 10"x2" bottle) if you need to increase your fuel with the shot. I want an extra kick but don't want a huge kit that will ruin my motor.

I think the JWT ECU and NOS module run in the neighborhood of $1200, don't forget for anything over an 80 shot of nitrous your injectors (and possibly the fuel pump, i'm not sure) will be very close, if not maxed out, so you'll have to upgrade those as well. That's not including all of the nitrous equipment as well. It adds up quickly. A friend of mine is running all this on his Sentra SE-R, and to do it properly (aka.. still have the motor running after you squeeze) it does cost money, he's going to run the 100shot and he upgraded the injectors (i think he went 50lb (or 550s?) cause he's eventually going turbo and got a nice walbro fuel pump (i think, it might be a TTZ pump, but i'm pretty sure it's a walbro). Hope this helps
