skid plate bolts

I recently on a routine post offroad excursion check on my 97 LTD noticed that i was missing two bolts from where my front skids are connected. I was wondering if anyone knew where i could get those to replace the ones I'm missing, what size/ thread pattern they are and what damage it might cause by driving with it loose? Thanks

Re: skid plate bolts

No damage unless you hit something with the skid plate. They are available from Toyota.

12 mm head, coarse thread, tapered shank. About 1 inch long (from memory).

Use the Toyota bolts. they are cheap. If you use the wrong composition bolt, you may be inviting corrosion. They are very soft steel.
