Smoked a Camaro

We started from a stop and he was about a car back at 50-60mph. After that he decided not to race anymore. It was a 90something V6 camaro. So wohooo I can destroy a camaro even if it is just the 3.8L.

Re: Smoked a Camaro

good kill but it is to be expected if you hit 60 in under 5 seconds you can run with/beat a SS so next time put one of those big boys down for the count then i will be truly impressed but i always like to see a camaro lose.

SS Killer? Doubtful...

Well he probably won't take down an SS just yet, but he could definetely catch some bigger fish if he hits 60 in under 5s (I'm impressed if that's true). Keep up the good tuning.

Re: Smoked a Camaro

1996 Camaro SS can only do 0-60 in 5.8 seconds.

I used to own one.

If he's able to hit 0-60 in less than 5 seconds, it wouldn't even be a race, more like a slaughter.

Re: Smoked a Camaro

thats not intirely true, youd be surprised how some cars acceleration dramitically drops after 50 60 mph, if he doesnt have alot of top end the ss will catch him quick, i can hang with alot of cars that run around 14s in like the first 1/8th mile,i was runnin low 10s, and broke into the 9s in the 1/8th mile, shit i even take them off the line, but this is in a big bronco, and i had a full tank of gas, some odd 25 gallons, but the top end isnt very good so they catch me pretty damn fast

Re: Smoked a Camaro

Am I misunderstanding or were you just trying to justify your statement on the performance of a Camaro SS based on your Bronco?

dont count out those comp G's, they respond very well to tuning. 15 seconds stock in the 1/4 mile as tested by the scca(i'm sure it can do better). Hopefully he invests in a smaller pulley.

I don't know, but I would hope it will be deep into the 13s. I am seriously debating going out to SAC tonight. If I do I'll get back to you with what I got. Thanks for the other responses.

Yeah most people on clubgp are getting ~14.8s in the 1/4. The best to date for the Comp Gs is a 14.5s Stock 1/4 time.

My pulley is pretty small, 3.25 < 3.8(stock) and I have a 3.0 to run at the track with some higher octane fuel.
