Re: CF Mirrors

A lot of the Tamiya JGTC cars have them. More specifically the Skylines. I have a couple sets that I'm going to be using for future kits. The CFing is the easy part....SAS and MicroSol.

Its a simple shape.
DIY!
You can probably find a hunk of sprue to make the mirror part out of, use a straight pin for the shaft and a little piece of scrap sheet plastic for the mount. I use craft store sequins for mirror faces (big bag at Hobby Lobby for cheap).
CF the head then drill and mount the pin shaft. Stick the base on the car and drill the hole for the pin through the mount and through the car body. then you can glue it on the inside so it will be much harder to knock off!

FOTW celica APR wing mirrors

Scroll down the page and you will see the ones FOTW made, that way you can see how he made them.
Not too difficult, just be patient

That's how I did it. Didn't take long. Only problem is both sets I made were a tad oversized... But they were easy. In fact, put the mirror body on the pin before sanding it to shape, it will make it easier to hold while sanding, and save your fingertips.
