Unhappy check engine light mass air flow problem???

My check engine light continues to come on. I changed my air filter last time. and it went away for a while now i'm getting ready to upgrade my intake. to correct this i have been told to reset the ecu is this correct? the problem seems to have started when i did a rig trick and pulled off the boot to the intake so it was striaght air to the airbox and filter any help apperciated thanks

That means disconnecting the battery cables. You can hit the brake to discharge anything left.

Rigging stuff is definitely not the way to go unless you have some sort of an emergency. Hopefully, resetting the ECU will clear the code and solve the problem. If not, retrace your "rigging" steps to see what might have gone wrong.
