Re: Digital E

You mean a numerical readout? I wouldn't bother, personally. Stock o2 readings are hardly accurate. A/F gauges are pretty pointless. You'll be using a datalogger to log o2 and tune from (if you do) so the gauge really isn't necessary.

you hit that one right on the nuts! they are very pointless... the only one that i consider of any help is the needle a/f gauge, they are pretty rare and expensive but they are right on and dont bounce back and forth like those annoying light up ones do! i have one in my RST and i would buy one anyday over a digital or a light up one!

Re: Digital E

just how do you use a af gauge? cuz that gauge doesnt look hard to make. would it be useful for tuning a mostly stock car or is it better for heavily modded cars

Re: Digital E

'Tuning a stock car' is an oxymoron, but the A/F gauge isn't used for tuning at all... A log of A/F ratio on your datalogger might, though.

Re: Digital E

IMO tuning is setting it up to perform at its best without adding or removing any parts on a stock car with 150,000+ miles i think that it can be tuned

Re: Digital E

I got what you meant, but I wouldn't consider a tuned car to be stock. In your 'tuning' you might have a higher redline, stutter box (soft rev limit) and all the other goodies computers can do for you.
