Dash Lights
Hi,
I have a 1990 Pontiac Sunbird SE. Two of my 3 dash lights are burnt out. I tried to remove the dash with minimal success. I was wondering if this job was even possible? The dash panel simply does not come out. Thanks. |

Re: Dash Lights
Yeah, that gauge cluster can be a pain. Half of my lights in my namesake have gone out, and Im thinking I might just end up going to a junkyard and trying to pull another cluster from a dead Sunbird.

Re: Dash Lights
Hey, it's easy as pie. look up under the dash, directly above the cluser. There's two screws. pull them out, then simply lift (CAREFULLY) up on the dash. that gives you access to the screws that hold the clear plastic piece that covers the cluster. pull them out, then you'll find the screws that hold the cluster itself in place. pull them out. now you have access to the cluster. pull it out, flip it around, and you can get your bulbs out. Give it a try!

Well it wasn't easy as pie... it took me 4 hours. There's a little lot more to it than just what you said! You have to take off the wiper and light controls on the left and right to get at the cluster screws. Anyways, long story short, I got them all working thanks to your guys' help. Thank you very much. It's nice to see my speedometer at night.
