Anyone else into pre 1970 Impalas?

Maybe this forum isn't for me (I'm somewhat new), but it seems like there are very few people talking about early Impalas. Where can I go to chat with people who are into pre '70s Impalas?

Re: Anyone else into pre 1970 Impalas?

I'm restoring a '71 Kingswood Estate wagon, although that is a bit newer than your particular interest. I, too, would like to see more discussion of the older cars. I'm sure you can find a Yahoo group that centers around '60s Impalas. I found one specifically for '71 - '76 GM wagons. I guarantee you there is more interest in '60s Impalas! Stillruns.com may have some links as well. If not, it's a fun site to browse!

Re: Anyone else into pre 1970 Impalas?

Thanks,

Is any one else on this forum driving or restoring an "old school" Impala? Let me know what you've got!

I am currently rebuilding a '65 Impala. The body is currently off the frame and I am planning to install air bags and 20" wheels along with a little custom bodywork and a fully custom fabricated interior (I'm an upholsterer). I am also looking for an LS6 with a T56 trans. It seems that most Impalas are turned into lowriders with 13" wires, so I'm going to do something a little different with mine. My '65 has been in my family since it was new and I remember my grandma driving me around in it when I was a child, so I am planning to give it the rebirth that it deserves.

I also appreciate fully restored cars that have not been modified. I also have a 1960 Cadillac DeVille that is completely stock.

Re: Anyone else into pre 1970 Impalas?

I had a 67 Impala for about 5 years (till somebody pulled out in front of me). Loved that car.
Marina Blue, 283, PowerGlide, and a few options like Bumperguards and Marker lights. I loved that car. If I ever build another one it will be fuel injected with an LSX or LTX and have 17's or larger on it.

I've got a '67 Biscayne, 2 dr, 383. It looks all original. Even the engine looks like a 327 at first glance.

I go to Hotrodders.com for most of my info. This board isn't really geared to what I'm interested in. There's also ChevyTalk, but again you could die of old age before you get a response.
