I just bought a 92' chevy 1/2 ton extended cab shortbed truck with a 350 but it just has the stock exhaust on it. I'm looking for a deep, powerfull, and loud sound. However i dont have all that much money to spend on it so if you know a cheap way to get some good sound let me know. Thanks

Re: Looking for a loud exahust cheap
Go with Flowmasters. I have a 1992 Silverado with teh 350 and 70 Series Flowmasters. It has a really deep mellow sound. Since you want a more aggressive sound, I'd go with the 40 series. I paid $306 to have mine done (one 70 series muffler, 3 in. inlet, dual 2.5 in out, and my pipes come out the back with 3.0 in. stainless steel Magnoflow tips, the pic was taken before I had thsi done though, so that's why you can't see them, lol) I think the price for the 40 series with the same set-up would have been like $260.

Re: Looking for a loud exahust cheap
In my opinion, Flowmaster. It's got a good deep rumble, and they are pretty cheap. The state I live in we don't have any inspection laws, so some guys just knock out the baffles in their mufflers. Can't get any cheaper than that. But it's probably a not a good idea on a 92' because they need a certain amount of backpressure.

On my '92, I still have the stock manifolds. My converter is still there but I have straight pipes from the converter back. It's the stock single pipe to the converter, but right after, it forks off and goes out the back. The pipe coming out of the converter is 2.5" and I have 3" dumps for the tail pipes. It has a low grumbling on an idle (my mother has plates hanging on her wall and you can hear them shaking when my truck is just idling in her driveway) and it's NOT obnoxiously (that's probably spelled wrong) loud when I'm getting into it. Flowmasters do sound cool on an idle but at high R's, they just don't sould that good to me. I have been pulled over three times in seven years so I can't complain. The sound is low enough that if I go into a parking garage, I can usually get at least one car alarm to go off. My truck is a reg. cab with a short box so your would probably sound a little different.
