930, 1981 with kremer mods

I am currently looking into purchasing an 81' 930 with 55k miles. The dealer says that the car as several kremer modifications, but he is not sure of all of them. All i can tell is the huge intercooler, and there is a boost controller in between the seats (knob), also an intercooler temp guage as well as roll bars. What all did kremer offer for these cars??? He is asking 35k

Also how many psi is one bar of boost?

To the best of my knowledge, Kremer never sold parts retail, they usually tuned cars specifically for the customer.

Kremer did just about every type of modification you can imagine, pistons, camshafts, induction and exhaust, although I'm not too clear on their turbocharger upgrades.

There's really no way of knowing exactly what parts the engine has without tearing it down and checking all the part numbers.

Oh, and 1 BAR is 14.5 psi.

What about the price he is asking??

The car will boost up to two bars max (running 105 octane)

What type of hp do you think we would be talking about here?

And what about the price?????

Oh, and one more thing, he kept calling the car a 935, then he said "to be more specific" if was a 930 w/ slant nose option....

make any sense to you??

I can't really say what the value of the car is, you should probably talk to a Porsche specialist about it. Try Champion Porsche, they will probably be able to tell you what it's worth.

It's not a 935, that's for sure. The 935 was a special racing 911, which Kremer campaigned for many years. During the 80s, Porsche made a few 930s with a slanted nose and popup headlights, as opposed to the original 911 headlights.

Ruf made some as well.

I think the car is probably worth at least $30K, but that's just my opinion. A low mileage slant nose 930 is worth $20K or more, and with Kremer options, it quickly becomes worth more.

The big two deciding factors should be, has it ever been raced, and has it ever been crashed. Many Kremer optioned cars ended up on the track. A previously raced car is worth much less than a street driven car, as it has been subjected to much harsher treatment than it would have been on the street.

If it's been crashed, even if it was professionally repaired, it's still worth much less than it would be otherwise.

Ask to see the documentation the seller has, and go over it with a Porsche specialist.

If it's a mostly standard 930 motor, it would be good for around 400-500hp at those boost levels. If it's a worked over 3.3 motor, it could be closer to 600hp.
