Question B16A2 Hydro with more mods, or B18c Gsr with less mods?

I have a Black 1994 Civic HB. It has no motor, or trans. I have found a site where i could get a rebuilt engine. I was wondering if i should get the B16A2 Hydro with trans and ecu for $2250, or should I get a B18c GSR for $3300. I am planning on putting a cat back on either one, but with such a small budget I could only buy a Greddy turbo kit (turbocharger, seq. blow offs, pipes, etc...) with the B16A2. Sooo...... The B16a2 Hydro with Greddy turbo kit, and magnaflow cat, or a B18c GSR with just the cat? Thanks.

Well when you put it that way, go b16 with turbo. But you can find b18c1 gsr motors for like $2500, with transmission if you shop right, then you could boost that and that would be even better. That would take some good shopping though. But if you could only go turbo if you get the b16, then get it, bucause turbo is going to be mass fun!

Try going to ebay. If you shop right, you should be able to get one for a good price. lots of them on there too, and alot are improted straight from japan, and only have like 40k on them, not rebuilds.

just remember that the price of the swap will always be more than what you had calculated out. some parts should be replaced while the motor is out to make it easier such as timing belt and water pump. maybe even your clutch and/or alternator belt. new fluids also.
