I installed a TurboXS BOV on my 98 3000GT VR4, and adjusted it. Now periodically I get some low idle at stoplights for about 3 to 4 seconds. Anyway to get rid of this? I thought an AFC might help, but does not appear to do too much.. does a little.
Any input would be great. |

Re: open loop BOV -- need input
Well BOV's that vent to the atmosphere, ie open loop cause you to run rich in between hard shifts, and when you let off the throttle, because they vent out air that is already accounted for by the MAS. That's causing your problem, personally I would go with the closed loop, but since you already installed...do a search at 3si.org, or here and you will find some people with the same problem. These are the results I got after searching a few mins:
http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?t=207067 -talks about converting an open atmospher bov to closed loop. 2: apparently there is an HKS recirculation kit that works with the HKS ssqv, perhaps there is a recirc kit available for yours. 3: Another solution would be to switch to the LS6 MAFT blowthru setup. I don't know if you have any knowledge or plans in regards to this, but it would solve that problem, and add performance, but it is quite demanding on tuning it and quite costly. If I were you, i would only do this if I had been planning it, don't do it just to solve the problem, it wouldn't be cost effective. 4: Just buy a new one, and sell yours
