Re: EVO8 turbo blow off sound

they should have a slight swoosh sound coming from the stock recirculating blow off valve. it is not however loud enough to scare might be competitors on the road, you must buy aftermarket ones which vent out to the atmosphere usually cost 100 dollars up to alot! hehehe! only thing is on evos, which are equipped with a afm sensor, the car will have a tendency to stall with these aftermarket ones not unless you install a programmable ecu. In some cases they work fine.

Cool

If all you're looking for is to be able to clearly hear the sound from the blow off valve, you only need to install an aftermarket open element intake on your EVO 8.

However, please note, most dyno test show aftermarket intake reduce output when compared to stock, likely do to unexpected readings from the MAP sensor which causes the ECU to reduce max boost. This can be overcome by the installation of a boost controller.

Additionally, to get the most power gain from the intake upgrade, you will need an ECU reflash or a tunable piggyback computer and dyno-tuning.

All this work should be worth 30+ horses at stock boost w/ 93-octane gas.
