I'm still in AWE!!!!!

Well gentlemen I got to see one of the coolest things ever today! My friend lives next to a guy who has been building 66 Fastback drag Mustang for the last 5 months after he flipped his 70 Drag Stang. My friend found out what was going on in the garage next to him when last week at 7pm he heard this loud rumble that was shaking all his windows and glasses in his house.LoL

Today I was able to come over and see this monster. The full chromely chassis is covered in 66 Fastback shell. The heart of this beast is a Quest Racing fuel injected Ford 605cu Big Block making 1500+hp and over 1000ft/lbs of torque. If your not familiar with Quest Racing the are a MA. engine builder who's NMRA Drag Radial turbo motor just set the record about a month ago in Florida with a 8.60 pass.

He fired the engine up for us today and just at idle it was one of the loudest things I ever heard. And the beautiful smell of 120 ocatne gas was in the air. He is running it at NED this Saturdy if the weather is nice. I'm going to try to get some pictures and video's to post here cause I think you would all enjoy seeing it as much as I did.

I'm not sure what class he runs in next time I see him I will ask him. I know he has working headlights and taillights so he can run in some of those if you have headlights and tailights we call in a street legal class! LOL. He does a lot of traveling and different tracks so I know he does a few different classes and bracket racing also. I'll make sure to ask him though. I'm on my way to my friend's house now so if he is around I'll try to get some pics and talk to him more.

I just got back from my friend's house and I took lot's of pictures as best I could with my old style camera. I will try to get the film developed tom and popped on disk so that I may put them on here for you to see. Hopefully sat I will get video of him running it too at NED if the weather holds.

Also the car is mostly set-up for Pro-Mod racing to answer your questions.

Re: I'm still in AWE!!!!!

yea I have a car almost identical to that around here. His name is Artie Green, I've talked to him a few times and raced a Z28 in front of his house... he was impressed with the way my stock 5.0 ran. :-) That made me feel good coming from him. His is a 68 Mustang with a 605 from Keith Craft which is based about 1 hour from my house in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. I have seen a street car with one of his 331's run on a Sat. night on the streets on DR's the stang was smokin' the tires beyond belief half way down the strip before he gave up. Staying almost side by side with a highly modded LS1 T/A on slicks. The 68 also has 1500+hp... he's looking to build it over 2000+ hp this summer. Can't wait to hear it. He is a well known mustang modifier around her. He specializes in Mustang, Keith Craft also specializes in Mustang motors. Check out Keith Craft I highly recommend it.

The feeling of driving a car like that has to be incredible. I'm glad others have the means to do that stuff so at least I can watch.
