Radar Detectors

Do any of you know what kind of technology the police are using know with radar detectors. I have heard rumors they don't use the laser anymore due to the amounts of laser detectors but i'm not sure. If that is the case, then buying a radar detector that detects lasers will do me no good. I was wondering, b\c i soon plan on purchasing a radar detector and i am not sure which one's are the right ones and which one's are up to date with what the cops have. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Radar Detectors

well most affordable radars use much more than just lasers. i have the 100$ cobra one and it works pretty well. however if i went back id spend at least 200 on one that found them piggys a little sooner on the highway

What does that mean? Oh, and yea i was looking at the $100 cobra one too. What you just said, does that mean they don't work well on the highway?

Re: Radar Detectors

yes...they dont work too well if ur goin about 75 in a 60 65 mph limit by the time it goes off ur about 100 feet from the cop and ud have to slam the brakes to slown down to speed limit which wouldnt matter cuz it would be completeley noticable. So if i were you i would spend at least 200 on somthing better

If I only was going to spend 100. I think the BEL 910 would be my choice. More specific article...

I hope that this helps out. I'm thinking Bel 910 myself actually...but on the interstates, I run a CB and have no problems.
