Engine Light?

Is there a way to reset the Engine light on a 86 camaro 2.8

Yeah, fix the problem. Sorry if I sound like a smart ass. If it's on there is probably a reason. Check it for the codes.

np i fixed the problem ... but its still on i washed the damn thing and it seems like now i have to replace everything!.. ditributor peplaced coil what next.. when i turn it over it starts then dies! then the second time i turn it on its good???

yeah disconnect the battery for a minute, this will clear and reset the ECM and the code will be gone. if the light comes back on, it means that there is still a problem you havent fixed. re run the codes. if its the same code, count to ten, take a breath realize your human and might not have fixed it the first time, and do it again.

yea you can try to unhook the batt but if the light comes on go ahead and get it fixed to avoid more problems later on down the road....
