Too broke for tuneup

I searched the forum and i could not find anything for a list of things that i should around the 60,000-70,000 tune up. I know i have to replace the timing belt and the water pump, but what else necessary to maintain my car? Im really worried about my car because the other day i started the car, and my eclipse felt like it was an old as fucking camaro. It was like shaking and shit....maybe it trying to tell me something

My car is a 99GST with 65,000 miles give or take

Re: Too broke for tuneup

Your owners manual will list everything that is done in the 60k mile service. If your a baller the dealer can do the 60k service, but theres no garantee the flat rate tech will do it all The fuel filter is commonly left alone.

If nothing else, do the basics. Plugs (stock), wires (stock or NGK), filter, oil/filter, all other fluids that need changing, etc.

I have had a question for a while now and now since this thread is started i might as well ask.

I had a black 95 Rs. Its manual and it has around 160k on it. This was my bros car before, but he got another eclipse and left this for me. I will start driving it in a few weeks after it has been garaged.

I was wondering if its really worth it to start modifing it. I guess im gonna keep the car until it dies. I already have an intake in it and it came w/ an exhaust tip. Not looking to spend too much, prob around 400-500. What you guys think, should i just drive it until it dies as is, or should i start to fix it up. And comments will be appreciated. Thanks and sorry if this is a stupid or repeat question.

Re: Too broke for tuneup

In my opinion i wouldnt even bother to mess with it. For 1, it is a 95 RS and 2, it has high mileage....if i were you i would just sell the car and get a turbo charged eclipse with low miles or go for something like an MR2 or 300zx maybe if you have a little moeny go for an Rx7.....

Re: Too broke for tuneup

you might be able to get a little more, but you can always put a down payment on a car and just pay payments....

Re: Too broke for tuneup

if you get 3000 for a used 95 RS with that many miles.. I will come to your house.. and smack the dogshit out of you! I got 9 for a disgustingly beautiful 99 eclipse GS with all kinds of goodies. and it only had 62k miles on it! I tried to sell it locally. everyone wanted it.. but nobody had the money. all I could get was retarded highschool bulshit and "lemme ask my daddy" crap. So I got pissed and traded it in. and thats all I got for it. *shakes head* the things I do for a turbo! Shit now that thing doesn't even run! I CAN'T WIN!

Re: Too broke for tuneup

my car had 18's on brand new tires, full exhaust, a hooked up interior, almost brand new paint, lowered, tinted, engine mods gallore and dress up kit. and it only had 62k on it. The dealer loved the car.. and said he could give me 9 for it.. so in essence my gs-t only cost me 500 bucks... but.. it's not running. and it's completely stock. But I think I made out ok. If your car is at par with mine, and you know a dealership with a gst or gsx, go see them and have them tell you what they'll give you for your car. I actually in essence lost about 5 grand on my car. cause it was worth 10, plus had over 6 grand in mods. but life goes on
