I had just bought a 97 GST eclipse that came from japan. And one of the main problems so far is the transmission. Which leads to my question, would all 4G63 turbo engines have the same tranny, including the 1st gens? Can I use it without expecting any too soon hazards? And would my eclipse be any different from the ones in the states?

Re: tranny solution much much needed
Your eclipse came from the states if its from japan, so that shouldnt change anything. You cant however use a 1g tranny in a 2g car. Furthermore, with a 97 I believe you are stuck using only 97-99 trannys because of a gear ratio change in that year that affects the tranny, tcase, and rear differential. Being a front wheel drive, I have no idea if this change still applies.
I would try the larger national boards like dsmtuners or dsmtalk. Someone on there has probably already gone through this.
