I have purchased an aftermarket cruise control for my '03 4.3L Silverado. My problem is I need to splice into a vacuum source, all the rest of the install is extemely easy. Need to know where is a good place to do this?? I would be very greatfull to anyone that can help. Thanks in advance.

According to the chevy dealer here,an after market cruise control can affect your on board computer control system. Has this problem been corrected.

Re: aftermarket cruise control

I got the cruise installed and working, just got back from a 3200 mile trip...I can't believe how nice that cruise worked.

I have an '03 Silverado extended cab w/ the 4.3L , it has always been under powered and not very fuel friendly(16mpg on average). Using the cruise on my trip I got 22mpg on average.

I used the AudioVox CCS100 from JC Whitney (approx. $120) once I figured out a good vaccum sorce, the install only took about 3-4 hours.
If anyone has questions on installing a system like this I would be happy to tell you all that I learned.
