2000 Rodeo has no power

I have a 2000 rodeo, just had it in yesterday for 90K service and to fix a broken fan clutch. Driving it home from dealer, it seemed like it had no power. Engine rev's high until I get up to highway speed, seems to hold the gears longer than normal yet not getting any power out of it. Any suggestions?

When is the last time you had the tranny flushed?

It could be a weak battery, or an alt on the way out. The tranny can do some strange things with a weak battery.

Not sure if it is the first time flushed. I have had it in to the dealer for 30K and 60K service, if trans flush is included in those services, then yes it should have been done at least twice prior.

Re: 2000 Rodeo has no power

could this have anything to do with the new fan clutch that was installed?

Sounds like your fan clutch is staying engaged all the time. This will zap a ton of power from the engine & make the engine sound like it is roaring loudly. The fan should only engage at low speeds @ higher engine temps.
G/luck

Talking

It sounds to me like you damaged your powerband. You may need to replace it.

Do it soon!
