Angry 2000 S10 has no power pulling away when hot

My 2000 S10 (2.2L 5sp manual Gearbox) often has practically no power when I pull away from a stop light when it is hot. The engine doesn't stop but will idle and I am able to move it slowly - albeit like a kangaroo - it is like fuel starvation or a vapour lock. I have discovered that it is "fixed" by switching the engine off then restarting. I know that if I take it into my dealer (who is useless) he will keep it for a day and then tell me he could find no fault.
Is this a fault on my vehicle or is it a "feature" of S10s - any suggestions gratefully received!!

Re: 2000 S10 has no power pulling away when hot

The problem is "fixed" by switching off the engine and restarting - suggesting that something is being reset in the electronics - but this is hardly an ideal solution.
